ORGANIZATION PURPOSE

The Holmes County Young Democrats is a countywide, volunteer-based organization. The Holmes
County Young Democrats serve as an arm of the
Florida Democratic Party and the Florida Young Democrats, as a major grassroots force, and a farm
team. The purpose of the HCYD is to promote the principles of the Democratic Party, to develop
leadership skills, provide opportunities, and thereby encourage participation in politics. The HCYD are
an active political organization for young democrats and  students between the ages of 16 and 40, in
Holmes County. The HCYD have a continuous working relationship with the State and National Young
Democrats. Young Democrats are the future; however they are an ever-present critical instrument of
today.

"What really distinguishes this generation in all countries from earlier generations is its determination in
action, the assurance of being able to change things by one's own efforts" Hannah Arendt.

Florida Young Democrats
As an extension of the Florida Democratic Party, this organization is dedicated to supporting young
Democrats. The Florida Young Democrats believe that the future of our party depends upon actively
building political, social, and business connections between Democrats aged 40 years and younger. We
further believe in tolerance, inclusion, and active participation in local, regional, and state government.
